This raw vegan caramel sauce is super simple, scrumptious and decadent! This is a quick and easy recipe you can make with just a whisk and a bowl, no high-speed blender or complicated equipment. It’s raw, vegan, oil-free, soy-free & gluten-free. 🙂
I love to use this caramel sauce with apple slices as a dip and I also make a pretty caramel apple plate! If you want to see how to make my caramel apply plate, check out my YouTube video above where I show you how.
This raw vegan caramel sauce is amazing swirled into some vanilla nice cream for a caramel swirl ice cream! That’s my favorite flavor lately, it’s sooo good. You definitely won’t miss the dairy, oil, or refined sweeteners in store-bought caramel ice cream.
This sweet, silky sauce is also a great way to dress up a raw vegan dish if you’re serving guests or need something festive to take to a potluck or family gathering. I normally have these ingredients on hand, so it’s my go-to if I have unexpected guests stop by and it’s enjoyed equally by adults and kids alike.
- ¼ cup raw almond butter
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2-3 tablespoons water, to thin
- Whisk the maple syrup and raw almond butter together in a bowl.
- Slowly whisk in a little water at a time to thin out the sauce.
- Whisk until the sauce is shiny and pour-able like caramel.
- Serve with apple slices or on some vanilla nice cream. Enjoy!
If you want a lower overt-fat option, use dates in a high-speed blender with the water and maple syrup instead of almond butter. You may need a bit more water.
