The Ultimate Green Breakfast Smoothie! This super tasty & high nutrient smoothie is what I drink every morning to get the best start to my day! It’s full of greens, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory foods. It’s also easy to take on the go to work or school.
This smoothie is low-fat raw vegan (lfrv) and oil-free, nut-free, soy-free, gluten-free & corn-free. This recipe is also Medical Medium protocol friendly, and includes 3 of the 5 heavy metal detox ingredients.
Nutrient Profile
This smoothie is full of greens, I normally fit in at least 1/2 a lb of spinach, kale or chard. That means if I have two green smoothies a day, one for breakfast and one for lunch, then I have a pound of greens before even getting to my evening salad! 🙂 Greens are full of phytonutrients, minerals, they’re alkalizing and anti-inflammatory. They’re also high in protein, iron, calcium, vitamins, and more!
Bananas and dates add a sweet & creamy texture while also being powerhouses of nutrition themselves. And not enough can be said for wild blueberries which have some of the highest antioxidant levels on the planet. I also added turmeric root which is cancer-fighting and anti-inflammatory.
Chia seeds are tiny but mighty, packed with Omega 3s, and they provide sustained, slow-release energy. Spirulina, which is a blue-green sea algae, has trace minerals as well as aiding the body in fighting inflammation, cancer and aging.
Barley grass juice powder is better than having a morning vitamin, as I mentioned in my recipe Super Green Kiwi Smoothie, it has more vitamin C than an orange, more iron than spinach, and more calcium than cow’s milk, and is higher in protein per serving than meat. In addition to a pretty striking nutrient profile it alkalizes the body to prevent cancer and other dis-ease.
Heavy Metal Detox
According to Anthony William aka the ‘Medical Medium’ there are 5 foods you can eat each day to help your body draw our heavy metals and detox: cilantro, dulse, wild blueberries, barley grass juice powder, and spirulina. This smoothie has 3 of the 5 heavy metal detox ingredients, so it will also aid in releasing heaving metals from your system. I normally add the other two, dulse and cilantro, to my salad later in the day.
I hope you’ll give this smoothie a try, not just because it is so nutritious, but because it is so DELICIOUS. 😀

substitution for banana?
Cultivator Kitchen says
The banana is essential in this smoothie recipe! I would try a different one instead, maybe with a mango base. 😊
