Today’s recipe is a Strawberry Milkshake with Red Swiss Chard!! It’s a creamy, sweet, pretty, sort-of-pink smoothie with tons of hidden nutrition, and you won’t taste the greens at all, its deeeelicious. 😋
I love to grow Rainbow Chard or Swiss Chard in my garden every year, it gets huge and colorful while the leaves remain soft even if they grow really big. Chard is way milder than kale or other greens, it’s closer to spinach in taste, so it’s great in smoothies. It’s also high in potassium and tons of other essential nutrients.
Even if you don’t have a garden, chard should be easy to find at your local grocery store. I like to pick the chard with red stems to add to the red color of this smoothie. The smoothie will be more pink in color the more strawberries you put and will also depend on the amount of chard in your bunch.
And to make this Strawberry Milkshake extra creamy I’ve included frozen bananas instead of fresh bananas and my Homemade Cashew Milk as the base. This is a ridiculously tasty way to get your greens in and not taste them. I hope you enjoy this healthy take on a childhood favorite. And it goes without saying, this is totally kid friendly!! 🙂
